Spectacular spring color for every garden
Azaleas are among the most beloved flowering shrubs, celebrated for their spectacular spring displays and versatility in the landscape. Members of the rhododendron family, azaleas offer an incredible range of colors, sizes, and forms to suit any garden style.
At Van Veen Nursery, we propagate a carefully selected collection of azalea varieties chosen for their beauty, reliability, and performance. From compact evergreen types perfect for foundation plantings to fragrant deciduous varieties with stunning fall color, we offer azaleas for every need.
Exceptional qualities that make azaleas garden favorites
Azaleas offer an incredible spectrum of colors from pure whites and soft pinks to vibrant reds, oranges, and purples, with many bi-color varieties.
Known for their breathtaking spring displays, azaleas transform gardens into colorful wonderlands with masses of blooms covering the plants.
From compact dwarf varieties perfect for containers to larger specimens for hedges and foundation plantings, there's an azalea for every space.
Many azalea varieties are remarkably hardy and adaptable, thriving in a range of climates from zones 5-9 with proper care.
Understanding the different types helps you choose the right azaleas for your garden

Azaleas are relatively easy to grow when their basic needs are met. Here are the key requirements for success:
Morning sun with afternoon shade is ideal. Too much sun can scorch leaves.
Keep soil evenly moist, especially during bloom and establishment periods.
Evergreen types generally zones 6-9, deciduous types often hardier to zone 4-5.
pH 4.5-6.0, rich in organic matter. Amend with peat moss or compost.
